Personal Bio:
I’ve walked a path similar to the one you might be on now—sitting in the chair of a nervous client, overwhelmed by a whirlwind of emotions or numbness.
My journey through trauma, both as a child and as an adult, has deeply informed my approach to healing. It wasn’t until adulthood that I found the help I needed, and this experience has become a powerful tool in my work.
My own trauma, combined with extensive clinical training, allows me to empathize deeply and support others in overcoming triggers, anger, sadness, and anxiety that may linger long after the initial wounds.
From my beginnings as a traumatized farm girl in a small town with limited mental health resources, to becoming a dedicated psychology student, and navigating further trauma, I’ve experienced it all.
My quest for healing led me to seek help from therapists, books, and training, and took me across different cultures, where I faced culture shock, learned new languages, and pushed myself to burnout.
Through it all, I’ve gained a profound understanding of what it means to be in the client’s seat. I assure you, there is immense hope and the possibility for healing and a fulfilling life free from the shadows of the past.
For those interested in the details:
I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with a major in Psychology, a 3-year advanced certificate in Narrative Therapy, and specialized training in CBT, DBT, EMDR, Traumatic Incident Reduction, Brainspotting, Somatic Techniques, and Neuropsychotherapy, among others.
I welcome both NDIS and private clients.

My name means Hope and I hope you leave feeling hopeful because as long as we have breath, it's not yet over.
I am a Psychotherapist, whose journey started in Zimbabwe as a HIV/AIDS Counsellor for close to a year.
It was the beginning of the journey because this is where I discovered my desire for much deeper work than what I was doing. I thought it was superficial but it opened a door and both feet stepped in.
I have a heart for people, to be fully healed and become as whole as is humanly possible. I believe being mentally and emotionally healthy facilitates breaking through certain particular cycles and patterns in our lives and improves how we perceive our experiences.
"Easy things are like breath. They vanish quickly." Difficult and challenging circumstances can at times persist. We often want to shoo away our pain and suffering because it is unpleasant.
As an individual, I've had my fair share of testing and this is something unique I bring to my work as a practitioner. I have been in the clients chair and so this lived experience gives me a unique insight into what it is like for those trying to heal.
This allows me to be particularly attuned to clients and to journey with them wherever the healing might lead. I believe we don't always have to escape difficulties because they bring with them much growth and wisdom. Arduous but fruitful.
I have a BA of Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Diploma in HIV/AIDS Counselling Care and Support. I also did a 2 1⁄2 year stint as a journalism student but life had other plans. Trust that I will love the stories you bring and honour their sacredness. I also love to write my own (in the closet), it helps my brain.
As a junior practitioner, my desire is to grow in my profession by continually learning from my mentors/supervisors as well as the experience I gain through my valued clients.
As I mentioned before, difficult and challenging times can yield the growth and stamina we require and I am prepared to give it my all knowing it will make me an even better Psychotherapist and Counselor.
